Study: The Lost Bean
The Lost Bean is a favorite study spot because it serves coffee AND wine. Well, technically The Lost Bean serves coffee and The Lost Vine serves wine. Either way, wine and coffee are located in the same building. This place has organic coffee and tea and, of course, organic and sustainably produced wine. Delicious snacks are on hand. There are a decent amount of seats and free Wi-Fi. Parking looks limited but there are many spaces around the back of the café. The Greek restaurant next door is pretty delicious if you need a food and location break. The biggest drawbacks are limited power plugs and “short” hours. Local musicians also perform on Thursday nights at the Lost Vine.

Food: McVean’s American Grill
It has finally happened. I have found the best eggs benedict in Irvine, maybe even in Orange County. Imagine walking into a restaurant, and while perusing the menu, being brought a basket of fresh baked almond croissants and cinnamon roll/croissant. Then you choose your selected menu item, and can watch it be prepared in the open kitchen. Even though you just ate free and delicious croissants, you begin to salivate as you watch other diners are served their meals. Right as you think a ten-minute wait is unreasonable, your meal arrives. It is perfection. No filter required. Your first bite creates a flavor explosion unlike anything your mouth has every experienced. Just when you think you can’t get any happier, you realize you have an entire plate of joyous experience remaining. Bon appetite!
Oh, the rest of the menu is also delicious. Attached are images of the Santa Fe omelette, cheeseburger, and fries.
